Volvo Reset Procedure

XC 70 2001 Steps must be completed within 5 sec. between each step:
-Make sure the trip meter is in T-1
-Turn ignition key to position 1
-Press and hold trip meter button until zero is shown
-While still holding the trip meter, turn key to position 2
-When trip mileage returns, release the trip reset button
Turn key to off
s60 2002- 03 To reset the service reminder indicator:
-Ignition position I
-Press and hold in the reset button for the trip odometer
-Ignition position II.
Note! Turn the key to position II within 2 seconds.
-Hold the reset button for the trip meter pressed in until the original value has been reset.
Note! For the 2003 model year a general yellow lamp will light when the reset button must be released.
-Release the reset button for the trip odometer within 4 seconds. The instrument gives an audible signal when resetting has succeeded
-If the trip meter is already reset the reset button should be held in for a minimum of 10 seconds and a maximum of 14 seconds.
Note! If the reset button for the trip odometer is not released within 4 seconds, the service reminder indicator is not reset.
s60 2001 To reset the service reminder indicator:
-Ignition position I
-Press and hold in the reset button for the trip odometer
-Ignition position II
-The indicator starts flashing when the reset button for the trip odometer has been pressed for 10 seconds
-Release the reset button for the trip odometer within 5 seconds. The instrument gives an audible signal when resetting has succeeded.
Note! If the trip meter reset button is not released within 5 seconds the indicator is not reset. However the indicator will stop flashing.

V70, S80		 1996-97 1998-00 1999-00 Service reminder lamp must be reset with either a Scan Tool Connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC), or connect a Volvo Rest Tool to the DLC and press the button on the tool to reset.
240 1986-93 When the "SERVICE" is illuminated, reach behind the instrument panel and push the level located between the tachometer and speedometer.
740, 780 1986-88
1988-90		 When the "SERVICE" light is illuminated, reach behind the instrument panel and press the button located to the right of the speedometer.

940, 960		 1989-92 1986-90 1991-97 When the "SERVICE" light is illuminated, remove the cap on the face of the instrument panel between the clock and the speedometer. Insert a thin-bladed tool into the cavity and press the reset button.  *Odometer above the speedometer needle.
All Models 1999 Press and hold trip odometer reset button. Next, turn the ignition key to the run position KPII (not the start position). Wait 30 seconds or until service light begins blinking. Turn the ignition to off position. Release the Trip Odometer button.
850w/ VDO Cluster* All Years To reset the Service Reminder Indicator, turn the ignition on while the engine is not running. Access the diagnostic unit located on the left fender well under the hood. Connect the single wire plug to terminal #7. Press the reset button four times shortly. When the LED glows, press the button once. When the LED glows steadily again, press the button five times. When the LED glows steadily again, press the button once. After the LED gives a couple of rapid flashes, the system is reset. Unplug the connector and turn the ignition off.   *Odometer located below the speedometer needle.
